Yury Gogotsi
Yury Gogotsi is a distinguished University and Charles T. and Ruth M. Bach Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Drexel University and the Director of the A.J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute (DNI). His research focuses on the synthesis and surface modification of inorganic nanomaterials, including nanodiamond, carbide-derived carbons, nanotubes, and two-dimensional carbides and nitrides (MXenes), and on energy-related and other applications of materials developed in the Gogotsi Lab. He was part of the team that discovered MXenes, a family of 2D carbides and nitrides with exceptional properties enabling applications in electronics, energy storage, water purification, and sensing.
