Stephan Roche
Stephan Roche is a research professor at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), where he leads theoretical and computational research in condensed matter physics and nanoscience. His work focuses on quantum transport, electronic and spintronic properties of low-dimensional materials, and the modelling of two-dimensional systems under extreme and non-equilibrium conditions. He has made internationally recognised contributions to the understanding of graphene and other 2D materials, including disorder effects, quantum coherence, and charge transport phenomena, with implications for nanoelectronics, sensing technologies, and space-relevant materials under radiation and harsh environments.
