Jarrod Schiffbauer
Jarrod Schiffbauer is an Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Colorado Mesa University.
His research focuses on microstructure–property relationships in advanced materials, with particular emphasis
on deformation mechanisms, fracture, and reliability under extreme mechanical and environmental conditions.
He has extensive experience in experimental characterisation techniques, including microscopy and
mechanical testing, and has contributed to the understanding of how materials respond to stress,
radiation, and thermal cycling. Within the Topical Team, his expertise supports the assessment of
material robustness, failure mechanisms, and long-term reliability of advanced materials intended
for space and planetary environments.
