Carlo Saverio Iorio

Carlo Saverio Iorio is Director of the Centre for Research and Engineering in Space Technologies (CREST) at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). His work focuses on the development, integration, and validation of advanced technologies for space applications, bridging fundamental research and system-level engineering. He has extensive experience in coordinating multidisciplinary research teams and large-scale European and international projects, with particular emphasis on space environment simulation, functional testing, and technology maturation. Within the Topical Team, he provides strategic leadership, ensuring scientific coherence, alignment with ESA priorities, and effective translation of research outcomes toward space-relevant technologies.
